Livelihood

India’ in comparison to developed and developing world is still grappling with the critical problem of poverty particularly in the rural areas. In a place like Jammu & Kashmir where livelihood options are limited, especially for the Persons with Disabilities, Hope Centre and its donors is trying to create livelihood opportunities for them. We are currently in the process of engaging Persons with Disabilities in a spice manufacturing unit. Similarly, we impart skills in Sozni Work to enable them to earn their livelihood. We also connect them with the financial institutions such as banks to avail loans and other schemes. These programmes are meant to uplift the poor and marginalized in rural and remote areas including Persons with Disabilities. We engage with the communities at the grassroots level to build community level resources.
