Due to the absence of any well-rounded treatment centre for people suffering from intellectual disabilities in our area, patients suffering from such disorder travel to far-off places for treatment. To fill the gap caused by the non-availability of such a centre in our district, we have set up a facility where services are given to patients by highly trained doctors, therapists, and counselors to support such people. Intellectual Disability is typified by limited intellectual functioning and adaptive behavior that originates before age 22. It is a lifelong condition; however, patients improve their functioning in due course. The treatment is customised around identifying the strengths and needs of a person and support provided for functioning and additional conditions. Most of these services allow someone with Intellectual Disability to function normally in society.
